Father O-So explained what had happened to him at the Town Square, how he twisted his ankle and barley sold any radishes that day. Then Father O-So explained how Ah came and found him there. Of their journey back and when they met So, just before one of the wooden cart wheels cracked and radishes flooded the pasture by the road. A series of bad luck events it seemed. Father O-So would not be going to the Town Square without one of his sons from now on.
As Father O-So rested his
injured ankle on the porch, Mother O-So prepared another wonderful meal in the
kitchen. The three O-So brothers rested with their father and talked about what
had happened and why father had sold so few radishes at the Town Square. It seemed father had arrived when most
of the TownsÕ people had gone to the other side of the town near the river for
the annual green pepper festival. A day that Father O-So was sure to remember so
that what had already happened would not reoccur the following year.
As the sun set and the
entire family sat around the dinner table to eat, each member of the O-So
family was happy to see one another sit, relax and enjoy a good meal together
long into the night, something that was not easily accomplished with all of the
farm work that the family had to do on a daily basis. Each of the O-So brothers
felt closer
To there parents and each
other, for they all suffered when they were apart and worried about each other
a great deal. Mother and Father O-So also felt much closer to their sons
and each other as well.
Without their sonsÕ willingness to go and search for their father, while others
stayed behind to continue the farm work, things might have turned out much
worse than they were.
Another morning and another
day of hard farming work to do. Each of the O-So brothers felt a little better
about him-self and the work that he was doing. Each brother knowing that they
could do anything when they worked together, they began their daily routine
with a smile and a happier outlook on what may be.
